Wright's Aerials

Aerial photography - Ancient Gallery

Another VHF/UHF combination. This is a very early Antiference product, as shown by the balun. The UHF section originally had ten elements, but one is missing. There is no driven element for band 3, since the Band III signal is collected from the Band I dipole. A Band III element very close to the dipole probably couples the Band III signal into the latter. This shot also shows the Antiference 9K mast and chimney bracket combination. These swan neck masts were only 1 inch diameter but were immensely strong, just as well considering some of the vast aerials that were often hung on them!
